SAKHI Trust is a non-profit organization registered under the Indian Trust Act and was established in 2002 as a programme of the non-profit organization “Samvada” in Bangalore. It was formally registered as a public charitable trust in 2007. The trust provides a platform for girls and youths from vulnerable communities in Hosapete Taluka (Hospet and it’s rural and urban environment) in Bellary district, Karnataka. Our main goal is to overcome caste, sexual and gender discrimination and abuse. The trust also provides educational, vocational, health, social and economic support to adolescent girls in order to safe them from discrimination and abuse as well as to free the community work of child labor, child marriages, the Devadasi system, sexual abuse and violence.
